This is how it all went down.

Hey ho!  I'd like to introduce you to my family.

This is me.  I'm wearing an orange dress with a white lace collar.
Not really, but I wish I were.

This is the guy I met when I was 14.
He lived down the street from my cousin and went to the same church as her.  My cousin often teased me about him and secretly I didn't mind it.  I always got excited when I'd visit on Sundays and I'd look for him at church.  I never said anything to him.  Just wore my massive glasses and smoothed my frizzy hair.  But I liked him anyways.  I don't think he even knew I existed.

Then I grew up and went to college.
I begat friends and friends of friends.  I had fun.  I studied.  Didn't date too much, but I was okay with that.  And then one of my pals said that his buddy was coming to live with him.  Lo and behold buddy was the older brother of my 14-year-old crush.
And then a while later my year 14-year-old crush moved in a few doors down from pal and buddy.
14-year-old crush was not 14 years old anymore.  He was a grown man.

Swoon.

Grown man and frizzy hair girl sort of kind of smiled at each other.
Then we did that thing where you are in the same room with each other and are fully aware of the other person, and yet you act like you are immensely involved in a conversation with the person next to you. You act like it's a very happy conversation.  Smiling a lot.  You don't look at each other and yet they are the only one you are really focused on at the moment.

Yeah, we did that.
Then we hung out.
Then we flirted.
Then we held hands.

And then some other things happened, like maybe this:

And then maybe this:

(after we were married)

And then this happened:

And then I began to feel like I was being outnumbered by yellow topped peg people.

But that's okay, as long as I'm with my crush.

I wouldn't even mind if I had to go out and buy a few more little pegs.
