Hey guys!
While perusing a few of my favorite blogs a while ago I came across a fun post by Keighley and Kiersten from Fancy House Road. They were giving lovely tips on dressing up for the holidays. I became particularly interested when they posted a video on how to make a sock bun. I think other nice people out there have actually heard of this 'do' before but I myself had not.
A sock.
Bun.
A sock in your hair bun.
I had to give it a try.
I urge you to go watch the video.
It might make you happy.
And while I was in the process of taking pictures of myself while my yogurt-faced children stared from the table, I thought I'd add a few photos of some other ways I've been wearing my hair lately.
A few months ago I went to a church swap where you take unwanted (ie. destined for a thrift-store) items in on one day, and on the next everyone comes back and peruses what other people were giving up. Free thrift shopping. The left overs are all donated.
I came across several beautiful scarves that I think at one point I might have considered granny-like, but now are just plain charming (isn't it funny how stuff does that?)
I brought them home, and this is how they've been put to use.
To wrap around a messy-bun.
And to fall from a pony-tail or braid.
Yup.
Those are my style tips for ya.
Sorry there was no video, but I thought you might be able to figure it out yourself.
On another note, do you guys have any ideas for places to go for Thanksgiving with a mother and sister when you know there will be no kitchen or food available to you? This year is just going to be a different sort of Thanksgiving with all of us moving at once. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Thanks :)
Becky, these are beautiful. Have you heard of "plopping"? I wanna try it...
