mothering alone

You may have noticed my absence in the past week.  I took a break from the computer for a while so that I could focus on my home.  For the past two and a half months my husband was across the country finishing a semester of school.  This meant that I was alone with the kids, and quite successfully stressing out to the point of eating chocolate several times a day.  I may have pulled my hair.  I may have cried a bit.  I've learned that after five years of marriage, I have come to fully depend on my husband in my life.  Which is nice, until he is gone.  Still, he took care of me tons while he was gone.  He even arranged for my broken down car to be towed away, fixed, paid for, and ready for me to drive again with out my even lifting a phone.  I am so thankful for him.
And so, I took a week off from blogging so that I could get things straightened around the house.  I am so glad to have him home.

Might I just say, I admire and fully respect all of you who are parenting alone.  I just don't think I understand how much that places on a person's shoulders.  You are amazing, and don't let anyone make you feel otherwise.

  2. So glad your husband is back. I know how hard it gets when your other half is gone although it does get easier as time goes on. But hopefully you won't have to experience that again. Hope you both were able to sneak in a date night.
