Here's the little dollhouse with her base coats of paint down. I figured I didn't want it to be too fancy. We started out with scraps of wood and I'd like to keep that the theme. First, I sanded all of the surfaces until the old white paint came off and the edges were all smooth and curved. I painted the outside walls and the back a deep yellow, and the roof a dark brown. The floors inside are a redish brown. Then, when the paint was dried, I sanded it down again until the edges had a bit of a worn look.
I'm not really sure where to go next. At first I thought I would draw in all of the furniture and maybe decoupage pictures and pretty things on the walls. But now I'm not even sure I want to wall-paper it. I'm kind of liking the simple look. I may just build some little wooden furniture and keep it kind of plain.
What do you think? Any ideas? I'd love links of the dollhouses you like best!
You could put a wall upstairs to make two rooms. And paint furniture/bathroom/kitchen cabinets, etc in it ;)
